Iain Walker is a leading thinker – and doer – in the drive to make democracy work better. He is the executive director of Australia’s newDemocracy Foundation, one of the world’s foremost organisations in the field of deliberative democracy. This is a form of decision-making that works by building forums where ordinary people can come together, talk over the issues deeply, and find consensus-based solutions to otherwise polarising problems.
At this event, Iain will give a keynote address, followed by a panel discussion with two political leading lights: Victoria University political theorist (and award-winning lecturer) Dr Claire Timperley and former Attorney-General (and podcaster) Chris Finlayson.
The event will take place at the Old Government Buildings (55 Lambton Quay), Lecture Theatre 1.
Please RSVP for this free event here by Friday 8th May.
